There have been rumors that something out of the ordinary seems to have occurred at the launch of this World Cup – Argentina has become the new Brazil.
One thing that has become astoundingly apparent even in the early hours of the tournament is Argentina’s first two games in South Africa. Argentina definitely has their eyes one the prize and they’re on the run for it in a manner at which we will all be amused.
Diego Maradona, the loud, contentious, ambitious coach who spearheads La Albiceleste has so far generated two smashing performances and assaulted with an unrelenting passion seen like no other.
I’ve heard Maradona and Messi are the ones that draw fans closer to Argentina. They love Maradona for the reason that they cannot take their eyes off him. Leaping and skipping around his technical area during games you can see him kicking every ball, going up for every header and flaunting every imaginary yellow card.
I don’t know about that, but I’ve always been neutral. Let’s just wait and see.

We are hours away from the opening of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the premier international football tournament. This is the 19th of its kind and is scheduled to take place in South Africa, the first time the tournament will be held on the African continent.
Diego Forlan, striker of Uruguay says the delay in his side’s flight to Cape Town is due to plane failure. According to Forlan’s latest Twit: “It’s incredible, a day before the start of the Cup. Is there no other plane available?”
Uruguay was supposed to train at Cape Town Stadium from 1700 BST today and local officials are unaware of whether that might be pushed back. They seem to have gotten off on the wrong foot.
Sir Geoff Hurst, a World Cup winner himself, said it is “inconceivable” that England could triumph devoid of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney. “We won the World Cup in ‘66 without Wayne’s equivalent, in fact better than Wayne, Jimmy Greaves. Jimmy Greaves played 57 games for England and scored 44 goals,” said Hurst
“Having said that, I think it would be quite inconceivable that we could win the World Cup without Wayne Rooney playing up front.”
I wonder who wins the opening World Cup match tomorrow. Either way, I look forward to watching a bright and exhilarating tournament played alongside the scenery of some of the world’s most beautiful landscape, stunning beaches and exotic wildlife.
