Is Sports Arbitrage Betting legal?
Yes. Sports arbitrage betting is entirely legal. All you are doing is taking advantage of the different odds offered by different bookmakers.
How much money do I need to bet on and how much money can I expect to make?
It depends on what you are looking to achieve. In general terms, you can expect to earn between 5% and 10% per month on your money.
Do I have to know anything about the sport I am betting on?
In some cases it may help to know or be familiar with the type of bet you are making, e.g. a handicap bet, but in the vast majority of cases it will not make a difference.
Note: If you are not 100% certain that you are betting on exactly the same event with each bookmaker then contact us for clarification. Yes, you will probably miss the arb through the time delay in us responding to you, but better that than suffer a loss by betting on the wrong event.
There will always be another arbitrage opportunity to bet on.
Is it ok to open a bookmaker account after I receive an alert?
You can do this but it is not recommended. Arbitrage betting requires you to act quickly on each alert, sometimes you may only have a few minutes to make the bet. Obviously if you have to spend time opening an account and then making a deposit before you place a bet then that time is wasted.
Speed is important!
What are the risks involved?
No matter what anybody says, no form of betting is entirely risk free, although it is safe to say that arbitrage betting is the safest form (in terms of risking your capital) of betting available. Most of the risks involved are down to human error. Others include:
- Stake restrictions
- Odds changing
- Rule differences
The vast majority of the risks associated with arbitrage betting can be eliminated through proper planning and preparation.
How much time will it take?
Again it depends on what you want to achieve. To place one bet may take a few minutes. To place 20 will take longer. Keeping records and accounts takes time too. You don’t have to do this but it will improve your long term profitability if you do.
Arbitrage betting is like most things in life; you get out of it what you put in.
Does it matter which bet I place 1st?
Yes. Always place the bet with the shortest odds 1st.
For more information see our free e-manual.
How long do I have to place a bet once I receive an alert?
It depends. Sometimes a few minutes, sometimes half an hour or more it just depends on the event, the bookie and the liquidity in the market
To bet on sports arbitrage successfully you will need to be near (very near) or have access to a computer on a daily basis. If you can’t get online very quickly to place the bet then the odds will most likely change and the opportunity will pass.
Sports arbitrage betting is great if you are mostly home based but you may find it difficult if you are out in a field all day :)
How many alerts can I expect to receive?
At least 20 per month. Possibly more depending on the sporting calendar. One day you may not receive any, the next day it could be three!
What alert methods do you offer?
At present it is only email. We are looking to add SMS alerts in the near future.
What do bookmakers think about arbitrage?
Views differ from bookmaker to bookmaker but what is clear and is also common sense is that it is best not to upset them. The best way to do that is by not being greedy. For more detailed information on this please see our e-manual.
If I use a web-based email account, will my arbs come on time?
Email services such as hotmail can get very congested during peak times and email delivery can become slow or delayed. We therefore recommend our members use a POP3 based email account.
Please read our terms and conditions / disclaimer on this
How do I know how much money to place on each outcome?
Our arbitrage calculator tells you how much to stake on each event. Simply key in the total stake and then the odds and the calculator will do the rest.
I want to continue the service after the trial but already have accounts with your recommended bookmakers, what options are available to me?
Please contact us if this applies to you.
It sounds too good to be true, why do these opportunities exist?
They exist because different bookmakers have different opinions on different events.
Arbitrage betting is good and a lot of fun and everything I have said is true, but success and profits will only come with some effort on your part.
How many bookmaker accounts do I need?
We recommend that you sign up to all of the bookmakers on the bookmaker page. These are highly reputable UK, US or European bookmakers that will give a core foundation for you to start your arbitrage project.
What do I need to do 1st?
Before you join, spend a few minutes thinking about what you want to get out of the service. Do you want to paper bet for the trial period or do you want to start betting for real straight away?
If you want to paper bet to start with, go straight to our join today page, read through the steps then fill in your details.
If you want to start betting straight away you will first need accounts with bookmakers so you can place your bets. Do this via our bookmaker page before you enter details, this way you will get to use the full trial period.
If we cannot verify at the end of the trial period that you have opened your accounts then your details will be removed from our systems in the normal way.
